YAKIMA - Cleto M. Underwood, 87, of Yakima, passed away Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Landmark Care Center.

Cleto was born May 10, 1919 in Protem, MO. She married Howard Underwood in Yakima on August 25, 1939.

She was a member of Central Lutheran Church. Cleto was a homemaker. She especially loved and enjoyed being with her family. She also enjoyed sewing, watching sports, traveling, animals and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her children, Don (Jeanne) Underwood, Jean Hamilton and Roger Underwood, all of Yakima, and Janice Case of Ellensburg; five grandchildren, Felicia Case, Laurel (James) Jones and family, Mary, Max and Maggie, Dana Hamilton, (Will Harper) and son Stone, Jason (Sara) Underwood and daughter, Natali, Scott (Emily) Underwood and family, Mia and Adin; also sisters, Alma Crow of Yakima and Dorothy Davis of Maine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Underwood and a brother, Charles Awbrey.

Private graveside services will be held in West Hills Memorial Park. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel at Central Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to the favorite charity of the donor.
