DAVIS, James, Esq., May 5 or 6, 1873. at his residence at Red Shoal, Stokes County, near Danbury, in the 79th or 80th year of his age, after a protracted illness of three months. Mr Davis was a worthy and highly respected citizen. He professed religion at Laurel Hill Campmeeting in August 1849 and attached himself to the Methodist Episcopal Church. (5-15 73, 5-29 73)
