Obituary:

Hannah Serena Osmundson Wiste was born of parents Serena and Jone Osmundson on December 31, 1858, being the first white child born in Marshall township. She was baptized and confirmed in the first Little Cedar church which was at that time a log structure. She grew to young womanhood on the place known as the Henry Osmundson farm, near the Marshall church.

On March 26, 1880, she was united in marriage to Andrew A. Wiste in the old Little Cedar church. They lived on a farm in Clayton township two years, after which they bought a farm in Marshall township, where they lived until Christmas of 1920, when they moved to their new home in Adams. They observed their 56th wedding anniversary March 26, 1936.

This union was blessed with six children, five of whom survive. She leaves to mourn her passing, Mrs. Sophie Asper, Mrs. S. T. Bohn, Mrs. E. N. Johnson, Mrs. J. C. Knutson and Alfred Wiste, all of Adams, also one foster son, Ferdinand Wiste of Long Beach, Calif., 14 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Andrew Ulven of Adams, and a brother, Henry Osmundson of Austin, besides a host of relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her husband March 16, 1937, one daughter, Alma Jeanette, March 16, 1888, and one foster son, Henry O. Anderson of Truckee, Calif., in April, 1944.

Mrs. Wiste has always enjoyed good health, it was not until the last two and a half weeks that she required much care. At that time she suffered a stroke from which she never recovered. She slept peacefully away on Friday, Dec. 28, 1945 at 4 p.m. at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 28 days.

Mrs. Wiste was well liked and respected by all who knew her. She was a home loving person, very devoted to her family. She always enjoyed associating with neighbors and friends until her last illness. She was a life long member of Little Cedar church and ladies' aid in which she always took an active part. She attended church regularly until a month ago. She will be greatly missed by all her family, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Little Cedar Lutheran church Monday, Dec. 31, 1945, at 12:30 p.m. from the house and 1 o'clock at the church. Rev. Breivik officiated.

Mrs. N. V. Torgerson and Mrs. E. S. Anderson sang "Nearer My God to Thee" at the house and "Den Store Hvide Flok" and "A Few More Years Shall Roll" were sung at the church.
