Services were held in the First Baptist Church of Hayti Thursday afternoon for George Henry Chism, 49, who died in Pasadena, Calif., Saturday, March 3. The Rev. R.L. Robinson, assisted by Rev. A.W. Clodfelter of Luling, Texas, officiating and burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery with John W. German Funeral Home service.
He was born in Hayti September 9, 1923, the son of the late Ollie and Bertha Chism, and was a veteran of World War II. At the time of his death he was teaching in the Los Angelos School District.
He leaves two brothers, John Chism of Hayti and Earnest Chism of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. Juanita Adkinson and Mrs. Sadie Metzger, both of Hayti; three aunts and several nieces and nephews. He was a nephew of Mrs. Bulah Walker of Caruthersville.
