John Mark Chism, 52, of Hayti, died there March 5. Born Sept. 17, 1934, in Hayti, he was the son of Ollie and Bertha Chism. He was the owner of Chism Plumbing Co. in Hayti. He was a deacon and member of the First Baptist Church in Hayti and was a member of the Hayti Cemetery Board and Hayti Housing Authority Board.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eufala Talley Chism of Hayti; Two sons, John Mark Chism Jr. of South Haven, Miss., and Talley Edward Chis of Hayti; One brother, Earnest Dale Chism of Germantown, Miss.; Two sisters, Mrs. Juanita Adkisson and Mrs. Sadie Metzger, both of Hayti; And three grandchildren.
Services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at Hayti First Baptist Church, the Rev. Miles Zeigler and the Rev. A.W. Clodfelter officiating, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, John W German Funeral Home of Hayti in charge.
Pallbearers were Raymond Inman, B.A. Cross, Bruce Cole, Bob Turnage, Dalton Rogers and Sam Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers were Phil Bowen, Richard Alexander, Duane Michie, George Camp, Martin Crites, Pall Kirkindall, William D. Pate, Charlie Ball, Bill Guise, Leslie Knott and Jim Brent.
