Funeral services for Merle "Bo" Chism were held Wednesday January 23, at 11 a.m. in the Ford Funeral Home at Warren, Michigan with Rev. Willis Dunn officiating. Interment was in the White Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Chism was born on November 22, 1917 and departed on January 25, 1970 in a Detroit hospital at the age of 52 years, 2 months and 3 days. He was the son of the late Ollie and Bertha Chism, a veteran of World War II having served in the Navy and a member of the Baptist Church of Warren, Michigan.
He was united in marriage to Rachel Haley on November 22, 1939 and to this union was born three children.
Mr. Chism leaves the following to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Rachel Chism of Utica, Michigan; three daughters, Vickie Chism of Utica, Michigan, Mrs. Bob Bookout of Warren, Michigan and Wanda Jo Chism of Miami, Florida; two sisters, Mrs. Sadie Metzger and Mrs. Juanita Adkisson of Hayti, Missouri; three brothers, John M. Chism of Hayti, Missouri, George H. Chism of Hollywood, California and Ernest L. Chism of Memphis, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Nancy and Jill Bookout of Warren, Michigan and a host of other relatives and friends.

NOTE: Could not find White Chapel Cememtery in Macomb Co., Mo. There is a White Chapel Memorial Park in Macomb Co., Mich., but no indication he was buried there and could not find the headstone.
