Sadie Lee Metzger, 76, of Hayti, Mo., died March 1, 2005 in Hayti.
Born July 18, 1928, in Hayti, daughter of the late Ollie E. and Bertha George Chism, she was owner/operator along with her late husband, of Metzger's Service Station. She was a member of the Hayti School Board and the First Baptist Church in Hayti.
On July 17, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., she married George Metzger, who preceded her in death on April 8, 2003. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Milner and Juanita Adkinsson and eight brothers, Leon, Bo, George, John Mark Chism and four who died as infants.
Survivors include one daughter, Melody Tohtz, of Herculaneum, Mo.; one son, Marty Metzger and wife, Pam, of Hayti; one brother, Ernest Chism and wife, Alyce Ann, of Germantown, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Cindy McMillian, of Imperial, Mo., and Marty Metzger Jr., of Hayti and one great-grandchild, George Preston McMillian, of Imperial.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Friday, March 4, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Bill Baldwin officiating.
Pallbearers were Talley and George Chism, Jason Britton, Jim South, Marty Metzger Jr., and Kevin Baker.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
