Despite the birth certificate he was the son of Henry Norton Charter and his first wife Caroline Thurston who died when he was young. Is step-mother was Eva May "Effie" Mason. The DC says his mother was "Carolin Mason" which is incorrect. Also on the DC is that he was born in Alabama which is incorrect.
