Isabel Asevedo was born July 2, 1906 in Los Cedros, Mexico, the daughter of Herman Asevedo and Maria Salazar. She married Florencio Arenas, and had lived in Sparks since 1924.

She was a homemaker, and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Survivors included her husband, Florencio; five daughters, Margaret Wilson, Madalena Dunn, Julia Kleist, Stella Gonzales, and Marie McKnight; two sons, Jose R. and Ricardo; 21 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
