Jose Roberto Arenas, 65, a Reno native and longtime Sparks resident, passed away October 10, 1999 at Veterans Hospital in Palo Alto, California.
He graduated from Yerington High School in 1954, and served in the US Navy for four years. After he was discharged he worked as a cab driver for seven years, and for the Southern Pacific Railroad for another two years.
Survivors included his special companion, Ruby Brajkovich; a daughter, Shaunna Dean; a son, Luis Arenas; five sisters, Margaret Wilson, Madalena Dunn, Julia Kleist, Stella Gonzales, and Marie McKnight; one brother, Ricardo Arenas; five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
