Florine S. (Grandma) Coffey, 85, a resident of rural Spiceland, died Friday in Oakwood Health Care Center after a long illness. Mrs. Coffey was born in Hazard County, Ky., and graduated from high school in Kentucky. She received her degree as a registered nurse from Indiana University. She was a resident of Henry County most of her life.
She was a registered nurse for 50 years and was nurse for Chrysler Corp., New Castle, for 28 years before retiring in 1970. She was a member of Knightstown Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Olen Coffey; a niece raised by Mrs. Coffey, Neta (Nikki) Davis; and a brother, Earl Gibson. She was preceded in death by a husband, James (Joe) Smith; a daughter, Maxeline Davis; and a granddaughter, Belinda Davis.
