NEW CASTLE,Ind.--Maxeline Davis, 61, long time New Castle resident, died Tuesday in Henry County Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Davis was born in Cartwright, Ky. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Ruth Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 16, and Order of Eastern Shrine Auxiliary, all of New Castle; Beauceant Research Club, and Sigma Delta Tau sorority.
In her earlier years, she owned and operated a beauty shop in Hagerstown. She also sold Stanley Home Products.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Whitaker, New Castle; three sons, Dale A. Davis, David M. Davis, and Matthew C. Coffey, all of New Castle; her mother, Florine Gibson Coffey, Spiceland; two stepsisters, Beverly Rains, South Bend, and Nita David, Richmond; a half brother, Harold Catron, New Castle; two grandsons, and a granddaughter.
She was the widow of Forrest E. Davis.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church, with Revs. Arnold Erickson and R.E. Pavy officiating. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Calling is 4 to 9 p.m. today at Macer-Hall-Pasco Funeral Home or at the church an hour before services Friday. New Castle Order of Eastern Star will conduct memorial services at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
