Carl Lewis Burris age 93 years of Gradyville, KY passed away Friday August 12, 2016 at 9:15 AM at his home after an illness. He was born on September 23, 1922 in Gradyville, KY the son of the late: Elmer & Nonie Roach Burris of Adair Co. Preceded in death by his wife Nora Bell Smith Burris, December 13, 2004, a daughter Patsy Posey in 1963 and an infant son Glenn Burris and by one granddaughter Teresa Gibbons: He survived by one son ,five daughters, one sister, also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren. Several other nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends survives. Mr. Burris was a member of the House of Prayer in Edmonton, KY for over 60 years, he was a farmer and a bus driver for the Adair Co. School System and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II Funeral service: Sunday August 14, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home . Clergy officiating; Bro. Phil Lowry & Bro. Wes Jolly Interment in the Tarter's Chapel Cemetery with full military honors presented by Columbia VFW Post 6097 .The family request visiting after 4:00 PM on Saturday at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home .
