Inez was born in Riesel, Texas, to the late George A. and Marie Pauline Matthys Behringer. She was valedictorian of her class at Riesel High School and she also completed a business course at 4-C College. She began working at Crosthwait Clinic, Providence Hospital, and Waco Clinical Pathology Lab as a business manager. At the age of 60, Inez returned to school and received an Associate's Degree in business management from McLennan Community College. Her life was committed to her Lord. She served her church by leading and participating in LWML, teaching Sunday school, and singing in the choir. She was a certified Braille transcriber and transcribed Sunday school material from print to Braille for 10 years. She loved to travel and take pictures. She was a lifelong Lutheran and was also charter member of Peace Lutheran Church of Hewitt.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Gail; sister, Evelyn Abel, of Riesel; and brothers, the Rev. O.N. Behringer and Spencer Behringer.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, Johnnie Geltemeyer; son, Glenn and wife, Mandy, of Coppell; daughter, Joan, of Waco; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Delva Lehrmann, of Riesel and Fae Althage, of Waco; and many other family members and friends.
