Urania McClure was the daughter of Caleb Arthur and Sarah Hicks. She was living with her parents in Fayette, Lawrence County, Ohio from 1860-1870. On 30 September 1878, she married Joseph McClure, the son of William Stacy McClure and Sarah Davidson. According to the 1880 Federal Census, Urania and Joseph were living in Fayette and by this time, they had a son named Joseph who was approximately 2 years old. By 1900, Joseph McClure was working as a farm laborer in Perry, Lawrence County, Ohio and was reported as single. His death certificate shows that he was widowed prior to his death in 1934. It is likely that his wife and his son Joseph died between 1880-1900 because there are no further records of them living after 1880.
