Robert Braithwaite, Jr., a farmer, was born in Manti, Sanpete, Utah, a son of Robert Braithwaite, Sr. and Harriet Amelia Bemus. He married Ericka Fredrika Thunell on December 26, 1889 in Manti.

Their children include:

01. Lawrence Braithwaite, b. 30 Nov. 30, 1890 in Manti, Utah. Married Lucy Smith June 6, 1916, the daughter of George Fredrick Smith and Christine Rasmussen. Their children are Gwendolyn Fawn Braithwaite, Jack L. Braithwaite and Ray S. Braithwaite. She died on January 5, 1928 and is buried in the Manti Cemetery. Lawrence married Norma Neva Butcher.

02. Arthur Braithwaite, b. Feb. 15, 1893 in Manti, Utah. d. Feb. 6, 1912.

03. Robert Braithwaite, b. Dec. 22, 1894 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah. d. Dec. 22, 1894.

04. Eva Lila Braithwaite, b. Jul. 22, 1896 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah. Married Dr. Sidney Branton Sperry, a University Professor, on Sept. 1, 1921.

05. Ruben Henry Braithwaite, b. Jul. 12, 1898 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah. Married Venice Paulson on Oct. 16, 1936. A farmer and cattleman.

06. Roy Easel Braithwaite, b. Dec. 21, 1900 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah. Married Lottie Burraston on June 2, 1926. d. Jul. 11, 1955. Buried Jul 14, 1955 in the Payson, Utah cemetery.

07. Erika Braithwaite, b. Feb 21, 1903 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah. d. Feb. 21, 1903

08. Ethel Dora Braithwaite, b. May 5, 1904 in Manti, Sanpete, Utah. d. May 12, 1904

MANTI- Funeral services for Robert Braithwaite Jr., 83, will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Manti North Ward chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Calvin Keller will officiate. Mr. Braithwaite died Tuesday noon at the residence of a son, Ruben Braithwaite, following a lingering illness. He was born March 11, 1867, at Manti, a son of Robert and Harriet Beamus Braithwaite Sr. He had been a farmer and a livestock raiser. he was a High Priest in the North Ward at the time of his death.He married Erika Thunell on Dec. 26, 1889, in the Manti Temple. She died several years ago.
Survivors are six of their 12 children.

Funeral Held For Robert Braithwaite

Funeral services for Robert Braithwaite, Jr., were held in the Manti North Ward Chapel on Friday of last week, under the direction of Bishop Calvin T. Keller. Mr. Braithwaite died on Tuesday of last week of causes incident to age.

The prayer in the home prior to the funeral was given by Frank Hall, while the prayers at the services were offered by David Olsen, Jr. and Dean Braithwaite. C. G. Braithwaite dedicated the grave in the Manti Cemetery.
