Born in Manti, Utah, the fifth child of Robert Braithwaite and Harriet Amelia Beemus, Harriet Amelia Braithwaite married George Rowe Smith August 9, 1884 in Manti. He was the son of Albert Smith and Josephine Augusta Rowe. George Rowe was a carpenter in Spanish Fork. They raised many chickens and sold lots of eggs in East Jordan, Utah. They also lived in Driggs, Idaho and had a small farm in Darby. Harriet Amelia was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting. She attended school in Manti.

04. Hyrum Smith, b. January 16, 1897 in East Jordan, Utah. d. 26 July 27, 1903.

05. Arthur Wesley Smith, b. November 21, 1899 in East Jordan, Utah. Married Sylvia Liddiard October 24, 1918. d. February 3, 1954.

06. William Clifford Smith, b. March 12, 1902 in East Jordan, Utah. Married Veldon Liddiard.
