Jesse Braithwaite Dies at Provo
Jesse Braithwaite, 45, a well known contractor and plumber, died Saturday afternoon at a Provo hospital after an illness of ten days from heart trouble. He was the son of Robert and Harriet Beemus Braithwaite, and was born at Manti November 16, 1887. The family came to Spanish Fork in his childhood and he had lived most of his life here. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Geslison Braithwaite, four sons and three daughters, Robert, Max, Marvin, Reed, Marion, Lucille, and Freda Braithwaite, all of Spanish Fork; four brothers and four sisters, Robert Braithwaite, Manti; Lyness, Willard, John Braithwaite and Mrs. Eleanor Dedrickson, all of Spanish Fork; Mrs. Martha H. Cahoon, Cardston, Canada; Mrs. Emily Walker, of Heber City, and Mrs. Catherine Mackley of Rigby, Idaho.Funeral services over the remains of Jesse Braithwaite were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Ward chapel with Bishop Arthur T. McKell officiating. the speakers were President Henry A.Gardner, Gilbert A. Johnson, Bp. Joseph Hughs and Bishop McKell, who made the closing remarks. Musical numbers included two opening numbers, "O My Father." and "Though Deepning Trials", and a closing number, "Sometime We'll Understand", by the ward choir, directed by John F. Warner, with Miss Mattie Holt accompanist; a duet, "Whispering Hope", by Mrs. Lola Argyle and Mrs. Cora McKell, a vocal solo, "Eternity" by Arthur Livingston. J.Victor Leifson offered the invocation and Wm. C. Beckstrom the closing prayer.
