Nile Wendell Page, 101, of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Clarksburg, IL, died at 1:10 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Shelbyville Manor.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2016, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with Pastor Mitch Ramey officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, near Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Shelbyville Manor.

Nile was born on July 26, 1914 in Dollville, IL, the son of Herman and Ollie Ann Deere Page. He graduated from Tower Hill High School in the Class of 1932. Nile began working for the New York Central Railroad. He later worked for the Oliver Corporation in Shelbyville, IL and retired from Blaw-Knox in Mattoon, IL. He was a member of the Fourth Street United Methodist Church in Shelbyville and a former member of the Clarksburg United Methodist Church. Nile was also a member of the Kaskaskia Boat Club and Shelbyville Moose Lodge #1294. He was an active member of the Shelby County Democratic Party and an avid bingo player. He married Fern Ellen Wheat on November 22, 1945. She died on April 13, 2008.

He is survived by his sons, Tommy Stuart Page (wife Donna) of Shelbyville, IL and Dennis Lynn Page (wife Shelly) of Buffalo, IL; grandsons, Derek Page of Assumption, IL, Dane Page of Shelbyville, IL, and Grant Page of San Diego, CA; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Fern Ellen Page; brothers, Garnet, Mervin, and Virgil Page; and sisters, Helen Curtis, Juanita Young, Marie Anderson, Nelda Fern Shaffer, and Hilda Hug.
