He was born July 23, 1924, in Antonino to Peter P. and Mary (Klaus) Rohr.
He married Verda Ruth Brown on March 2, 1946, in Victoria. She preceded him in death June 21, 2012.
Survivors include six sons, Clyde, Hill City, Clifford and wife, Deb, Bogue, Darrell and wife, Jane, Hanover, Wayne and wife, Lisa, Manhattan, Calvin and wife, Christy, Ellsworth, and Melvin and Lora Day, WaKeeney; three daughters, Carolyn Schoenberger and husband, Martin, WaKeeney, Charlotte Desair and husband, Gene, Damar, and Virginia Boots and husband, Bill, Kanopolis; a brother, Alvin Rohr, El Dorado; 33 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Robert, Alfred, Nick and Cyril; an infant brother, Nicholas; five sisters, Ottilia Rohr, Clementine Braun, Agnes Gross, Philomina Braun and Clarita Braun; an infant daughter, Mary Rohr; and a grandson, Brian Schoenberger.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ellsworth; private burial following at a later date.
Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.
A vigil/rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Ellsworth Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6485, Ellsworth Knights of Columbus or St. Bernard Catholic Church, Ellsworth, in care of the funeral home.
