Alfred P. "Fritz" Rohr, 94, Victoria, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at St. John's Health Care Center, Victoria. He was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Vincent to Peter P. and Mary (Klaus) Rohr.

He married Anna (Braun) on Oct. 13, 1936, in Vincent. She preceded him in death July 25, 1994.

He worked most of his life for City Service in the Ellis County Bemis Oil Fields. He later worked for the Ellis County Road and Bridge Department and retired in 1979. He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Rohr and wife, Mary Ann, Russell, and Leon Rohr and wife, Sandy, Lincoln; six daughters, Bernita Schrant, Victoria, Firma Hammersmith and husband, Joe, Gorham, Shirley Hammersmith and husband, Marvin, Horton, Vera Rohleder and husband, Norman, Russell, Mary Ann Kuhn, Kansas City, Kan., and Arlene Giebler and husband, Ivan, Hays; two brothers, Victor Rohr and wife, Ruth, Ellsworth, and Alvin Rohr and wife, Cleo, El Dorado; three sisters-in-law, Doris Rohr, Hays, Martina Rohr, Gorham, and Rosaline Rohr-Rome, Victoria; 22 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Robert Rohr, Nick Rohr and Cyril Rohr; five sister, Tillie Rohr, Clementine Braun, Agnes Gross, Minnie Braun and Clarita Braun; two sons, Floyd Rohr and Larry Rohr; a great-granddaughter, Lindsay Renee Miller; and a son-in-law, Norman Schrant.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, both at Cline's Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria, KS 67671. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, followed by a Victoria Daughters of Isabella rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at the mortuary.

Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Cemetery Fund or Hospice of Hays Medical Center in care of the mortuary.
