Death notice from Medina County Gazette, Friday, July 5, 1912:

Weymouth

Milton Stone died Friday, June 28, after a long and painful illness. A good many of the relatives and old friends and neighbors from York attended his funeral here Sunday.

Obituary from Medina County Gazette, Friday, July 19, 1912:

Milton Louis Stone

After many months of patient suffering, Milton L. Stone entered into rest at his home in Weymouth on June 28, 1912. For a number of weeks he had anticipated the coming of the messenger and with quiet confidence had been awaiting His arrival.

Mr. Stone was born in York, on Oct. 27, 1841. His parents were Wm. Brent and Mrs. Melissa Brintnall Stone. Except a short period lived in Iowa, York was his constant home until his removal to Weymouth about eight years ago. Sometime in the early 60's he was united in marriage to Miss Esther Rice of Litchfield. To them there was born one son, Wm. E. Stone, who survives and whose home is at Cuyahoga Falls. This union was soon broken by the death of the wife and mother. In August, 1874, Mr. Stone married Miss Sarah Welsh of Keene, O., who was his devoted and faithful companion to the end of his days, tho she herself for a number of years past has been in feeble health. Besides his bereft widow, there remains to mourn their loss his son, Wm. E., and his grandson Edwin, both of Cuyahoga Falls; and his two sisters, Mrs. Samuel E. Carrington of Chicago, and Mrs. Chas. H. Knapp of Palouse, Wash. For several months prior to his death Mrs. Carrington was at her brother's bedside to help care for him and to comfort the frail, sorrowing wife. All were affectionately devoted to one another.

Mr. Stone was an earnest Christian, having united with the Congregational church at York during a revival many years ago, and had trasferred his membership to the church at Weymouth, and was a member there at the time of his death. During his last sickness, he not only rested in his Christian faith but was notably eager, as he had opportunity, to promote a Christian spirit of forgiveness and love among all those about him. A distinguishing natural characteristic of the man was his passionate love of flowers, and the many beautiful flowers that were sent to him, especially by those who knew of his great fondness, were to him a great delight.

Funeral servies were held at the house in Weymouth in the presence of a large concourse of friends and neighbors, Rev. T.D. Phillips of York officiating. The remains were committed to their final rest in the cemetery at York.
