'Buster' was the son of Charles Cecil and Edith Paris Lowe and step-mother Cleo Lowe. His father, Charles, was the son of Roland Anderson and Hannah Elizabeth Welch Lowe Sears. He married Myrtle Miller on December 21, 1936. He joined the U S Army in 1944, served in the 14rh Armored Division, stationed in Germany and France. His Division marched 2,000 miles in nine months through France and Germany. He was injured in battle, spent almost a year in an Army Hospital. After his discharge he returned to Rath Packing in Waterloo, IA where he worked for 40 years prior to retiring. He was a member of the Waterloo VFW Post 1623 and the Clear Lake Post 4868, a member of the Gemologist Club of Waterloo and the Rock Club in Cedar Falls, and the Sons of Civil War Veterans, active in his community.
