In her free time Verna loved to dance so, most Saturday nights, Verna and Jessie could be found dancing at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. She also enjoyed camping and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Verna worked at many different jobs throughout her years in Mason City.
