Mrs. Hawkins was the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Hogan, and had lived the greater part of her life in Appanoose county. In early girlhood she was converted and united with the M. E. church.
On Oct. 11, 1885, she was united in marriage with Wm. F. Hawkins in Kansas City, where they resided some years. To this union were born seven children. Mrs. Hawkins is survived by her husband and five children, Cadd R., Kathryn E., Arch F. and William E., of Jerome, and James H., of Kalispell, Mont. Also two sisters, Mrs. W. S. Crouch and Mrs. W. T. Ogle of Kalispell, Mont., and John F. Hogan of Bend, Ill and W. G. Hogan of Jerome.
The life of the departed was one of devotion to her family and friends and her memory will live long in the minds of all who know her and mourn for her sincerely.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Johnson of Des Moines, from the home on Tuesday, April 24, at 2 p.m. Interment in Jerome cemetery.
