The Huntsville Times, Thursday, June 15, 1944. Mrs. Swift Rites Held Wednesday. Lincoln County Woman Buried From Concord Church In This County. Fayetteville, Tenn., June 15, 1944. Funeral services for Samantha Ann Swift, 60, who died Tuesday at the local hospital following a two weeks' illness, were conducted Wednesday afternoon from the Concord Baptist church in Madison County, Ala. The Rev. C. C. Hines officiated. Burial was in the Concord cemetery. Surviving are her husband, David J. Swift of Fayetteville; a daughter, Mrs. Dewey Jacks of New Market, Ala., four sons, Leighton Swift of Indianapolis, Ind.; Ivon Swift of Mobile, Ala.; Bernard Swift, Private First Class in South Pacific for two years; Private Maurice Swift, Camp Beale, Cal.; three sisters, Mrs. Mollie Cope and Mrs. Fannie Cope, both of DeKalb County; Mrs. Minnie Roberts of McMinnville; three brothers, Willie Jones, of DeKalb County; John and Waymon Jones of White County; eight grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
