My uncle Bernard, 3rd son of David James Swift & Samantha Ann Jones. He was a house painter most of his life, and suffered with TB. He was married first to Jennie England in Nashville; second to Bertha Mae Whiteley Johnson Jul 25, 1974 in Madison County, Alabama. He had no children.

A graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Concord Cemetery with the Rev. Odie Hunter officiating, and Spry Funeral Home directing. Survivors include a brother, Ivan C. Swift of Athens; a sister, Mrs. Minnie L. Jacks of New Market; and a number of nieces and nephews.
