Roma Gertrude Boswell was born April 26, 1913 near Andover, Missouri the daughter of William Henry "Will" and Mary Suzie (Flanagan) Boswell. She married Albert Lee Stock on March 5, 1932. He died January 31, 1971. She married Lloyd F. Burr Sr. on December 15, 1975. He died on January 20, 1995. Roma was a homemaker all of her life, she also worked as a custom caterer. Her specialty was wedding cakes and wedding events. During this time she also worked in the housekeeping department at the University of Iowa for over seventeen years. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree, as well as the City Farmerettes and the Fremont Homemakers. She had been awarded sixty year pin for her service with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Eagles Lodge in Iowa City. During these years she held many of the local, and area offices; including serving as the State Mother in 1998. She has maintained her membership up to the time of her death. Her family includes one son and his wife, daughter-in-law, step-son and his wife, step-daughter and her husband, sister-in-laws, 11 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 7 step-great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. ... She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, son, John A. Stock, daughters, Alice Mae Mitchell and Melba Jean Stock in infancy; 1 granddaughter, 2 sisters, and 6 brothers.
