Lloyd F. Burr, Sr., age 94, of Iowa City died January 20, 1995 at the Lone Tree Health Care Center following a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree. Rev. Ann Rouse officiated. Burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Memorials are designated to the United Presbyterian Church or as the Donor’s choice.

Lloyd Burr was born January 26, 1900 in Lone Tree, Iowa the son of John Burr and Anna Stock. He was a farmer all of his life in Johnson County. He married Flossie Baker on February 10, 1926. She died on November 26, 1973. Lloyd married Roma Stock on December 15, 1975 in Lone Tree.

Mr. Burr was a member of the Johnson County Fair Board, a County 4-H Leader, a Champion Cornhusker, and a member of the American Shorthorn Association. He was also a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Lone Tree and the Eagles Lodge.

He is survived by his wife, Roma of Iowa City; daughter Margaret (Berle) Smothers of Sumner; son Lloyd (Mary Ann) Burr, Jr. of Lone Tree; sister Alice (Willis) Musser of Lone Tree; also four grandchildren: Sherryl Burr Nicholson, Noel Smothers Reynolds, Richard Lloyd Burr, Karleen Smothers Thom.; two great-granddaughters, Brittany Ann Reynolds, and Courtney Ann Burr and great grandson, Tyler Thomas Nicholson; stepsons, Marion (Esther) Stock of Rolla, Missouri and John (Grace) Stock of Clinton, and twelve step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Flossie; sisters, Emma and Pearl; brothers, George and Vernon, and step daughter, Alice Mae Stock Mitchell.
