Merlin R. Robley, age 76, of Reedsville, passed away on April 2, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by his family.

Merl was born on March 31, 1940 in the town of Cato, son of the late Peter and Ida (Thone) Robley. He was a graduate of Valders High School, class of 1958. Merl served our country in the United States Army from 1958 – 1961. On July 29, 1961, he married Gloria Lau at Gjerpin Lutheran Church. Merl started his career at the Brillion Iron Works, became an electrician in partnership with Lemke Electric, and finally started his own company, Robley Electric until his retirement. Merl was an honorary member of the Rockea Hunting Club and was a member of the Collins Paradise Snowmobile Club, the Collins Fire Department, and St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing in Canada, bowling in a couples league with Gloria, was an avid Packer fan, working on his hobby farm with his boys, and loved spending time with his family.

Merl is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gloria of Reedsville; their children: Randy (Lisa) of Brillion, Gary (Rita) of Menchalville, Lori (Len) Mullen of Menasha, Steve (special friend Andrea) of Greenleaf, Wendy (Doug) Schaefer of Collins, and Dave (Karie) of Reedsville; grandchildren: Chris (Michelle), Ryan (Kami) Casie (fiancé Justin), Derek (fiancée Kasie), Caden, Joshua (special friend Amanda) Krahn, Kayla Krahn, Devon, Stephanie, Morgan, Brandon Schaefer, Jeffrey, Megan, and Kyle; five great-grandchildren; brother and two sisters-in-law: Roger (Karen) of Manitowoc and Valdis Robley of Kimberly; two sisters and two brothers-in-law: Dorothy (Jim) Arentsen of Sheboygan and Diane (Paul) Havlinek of Howards Grove; other in-laws: Eunice (Marvin) Loppnow of Green Bay, Darlene Lau, Diane Lau both of Reedsville, Janice Lau of Brillion, and Susan (special friend Bob) Kiel of Manitowoc; his dog Teddy; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Clarence and Rose (Fuhrmann) Lau, a step-father-in-law: Wilmer Ahrens, one son: Jeffrey, one grandson: Justin Robley, siblings and in-laws: Royal, Reuben, Lewellyn (Vivian), Vernon (Shirley), Marvin, Ilene (LeRoy) Stock, Harlan Lau, Jerome Lau, and Denver Lau, 2 nieces: Jan Van Voohs and Linda Hill, 3 nephews: Burton Robley, Jim Robley, and Rick Loppnow, and other relatives.

Funeral Service will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Apri l 6, 2016 at St. John St. James Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Ross Henzi. Burial will take place in the Westside Cemetery, Reedsville. Military Honors will be accorded by the Am Vets Post 1032 of Reedsville.
