He was born on July 11, 1901, in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin to parents Joseph and Catherine (Weber) Wiederholt. In 1910 his parents moved the family to a farm Northwest of Lisbon, North Dakota, where he grew to manhood.
On October 12, 1937, he married Lucille Loretta Greenley at Lisbon, North Dakota. They had no children of their own so they raised several foster children as their own.
Carl and his brother Arthur farmed for several years in Lisbon, North Dakota prior to moving to Los Angeles. He was a Butler for an Attorney in Los Angeles, and later he worked as a Gardener for the County of Los Angeles until he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille Wiederholt; two sons, James R. Coles and Thomas E. Coles; one daughter, Mrs. Patty Jolley; three brothers, Leo Wiederholt of Portage La Prairie of Manitoba, Canada, Martin Wiederholt of Atlanta, GA, and the Rt. Rev. Msgr. Vincent Wiederholt of Hope, ND; one sister, Mrs. Veronica Schmit of Lisbon, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded him in death were his brothers, Joseph Wiederholt and Henry Wiederholt of Lisbon, ND, Bernard Wiederholt of Eugene, OR, George Wiederholt of Portland, OR, and Arthur Wiederholt of Sherman Oaks, CA; one sister, Mrs. Angeline Wolfer of Conception Junction, MO.
Rosary will be recited Tuesday, March 23rd at 8:30 p.m. at J. T. Oswald Mortuary in Reseda. Requiem Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 24th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cyril's Catholic Church in Encino, California. Inurnment will be at San Fernando Mission Catholic Cemetery.
