Eloise Featherstone, 97, of Greenfield, passed away Monday March 21, 2016, at Jerseyville Nursing and Rehab Center.

She was born December 30, 1918 in Greene County, the daughter of Frank Sr and Louise Barnard Blair. She married Dale Feathersone on May 1948 in Carlinville. He preceded her in death Jan 31, 1993.

Surviving are three sons, Jay(Deloris) of Franklin, Larry (Linda) of Greenfield and Jim(Cindy) of Rockbridge; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Faye Dwyer of Carlinville and Estaene Beckman of Quincy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Curtis, Melvin and Frank Jr and one sister, Wilma.

Eloise was a member of the Greenfield Uniyed Methodist Church and the Women's Auxilary. She enjoyed embroidery, bowling and doing word puzzles and games with her friends, especially Yahtzee. Elosie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed visiting with her family and neighbors and loved receiving cards, pictures and letters from them. She was an avid Greenfield Tiger football fan and kept a log of scores, wins and losses. She was a regular blood donor, supported the food pantry and the Friend-in-Deep Program. She also love hummingbirds. Eloise had a generous heart and always put the needs of others in front of hers.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Friday until the 11:30 a.m. service at the Shields-Bishop Funeral Home in Greenfield.

Burial will follow at the Oak Wood Cemetery north of Greenfield.

Memorials are requested to Greenfield Area Senior Citizens, Meals on Wheels or the Greenfield City Cemeteries or donor's choice.
