Mr. Upshur Carroll Guy, age 83, died at a local nursing home on October 28. His wife was the late Cora Crockett Guy. A resident of Exmore, he was born and reared in Melfa, the son of the late John W. and Margaret Ayres Guy. He was a member of the Melfa Methodist Church. He was a retired carpenter and farmer.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Doughty Funeral Home on October 30, at 1:00 p.m. by the Rev. Carl Whitten. Pallbearers will be Henry Guy, Ernest Ward Guy, Stewart Scott, Sid Bull, Frank Beasley, Frank Swain, James Mason and Russell Custis. Interment will be in Belle Haven.

Mr. Guy is survived by the following children, Mrs. Lois G. Bull of Linwood, Pa., Mrs. Ada G. Dickerson of Exmore, Leland F. Guy of Keller and Harold T. Guy of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Beasley of Norfolk and Mrs. sue Swain of Melfa; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
