Selma was fifteen when she came to the United States with her mother on the steamship Wisconsin which sailed from Liverpool, England, on July 2, 1873. The company arrived in New York on July 15th, and at Salt Lake City, July 24th.
She is listed as Silma Ljungberg, Age 11.

"Mrs. Selma Youngberg Kendell, 84, of 342 East Ninth South street, died Tuesday afternoon at a Salt Lake hospital of causes incident to age.
Born March 13, 1858 at Malmo, Sweden. Mrs. Kendell had lived in Utah more than 70 years. She is survived by several nieces and nephews."
