Carl enlisted in the U.S. Army on July 29, 1918, from Salt Lake City, Utah, and was discharged February 21, 1919.

Married Svea Ingeborg Sander, May 26, 1920, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah. After Carl's death she was married to Chris Orville Dice, August 3, 1951, Summit, Utah. Both died in Whittier, LA, CA.; Svea in 1983 and Chris in 1975.

"Funeral services for Carl Oscar Youngbereg, 63, former employe of Salt Lake City Bus Lines, will be conducted Monday noon at 260 East South Temple St.

Mr. Youngberg died Thursday in a Hot Springs, S.D., veteran's hospital of natural causes. He resided at 440 East Third South St., in Salt Lake City.

Born May 3, 1889, in Draper, he was a son of Andrew and Matilda Sunnerberg Youngberg. On May 26, 1920, he married Svea Sander in the Salt Lake Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mr. Youngberg was a veteran of World War I. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 2, Salt Lake City. For 18 years he was employed by the City Lines as a conductor.

An active member of the Church, he served from 1910-12 and until his illness remained active in the Salt Lake Ninth Ward.

Survivors include his widow, of Salt Lake City, one son, Leland Carl Youngberg, San Francisco; one daughter, Mrs. Norma Deon Gribble, Salt Lake City; one grandchild; one brother, Andrew E. Youngberg and one sister, Mrs. Sadie (Sarah) Newton, both of Salt Lake City.

Friends may call at the place of services Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour. Burial will be in Salt Lake City Cemetery."
