Mrs. Patten dies Tuesday

Mrs. J. H. Patten, 75, 1497 Duff died at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Mary Greeley hospital where she was taken last Wednesday because of a heart ailment. She had been ill for several years. Mrs. Patten was born Oct. 31, 1873, at Shelburn, Ind. She was married to J. H. Patten Jan. 13, 1890, at Sullivan, Ind. They came to Ames in 1921. Survivors include Mr. Patten of Ames, and William L. Patten of Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. Maria Boldt, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Theodore Steuben, Traer; 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon. Burial will be in the Ames Municipal cemetery.
