C M Beck, 81 of Dumas, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012. Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Morrison Memorial Chapel in Dumas. Rev. Jerry Howe, pastor of First Baptist Church in Dumas will be officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Morrison Funeral Directors.

C M was born on June 20, 1930 in Floydada, Texas to Albert and Edna Mary Beck. He graduated from Dumas High School, and had been a resident of the Dumas community for seventy years. C M was united in marriage to Nada Sue Swindle on April 22, 1973 in Dumas. She preceded him in death in 2005. C M was a member of First Street Church of Christ.

C M worked for Diamond Shamrock as a crane operator until his retirement after more than thirty years of service. He was a talented woodworker. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed both fishing and hunting. He especially loved the Red River, New Mexico area. C M will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his wife, Nada, he was also preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

C M is survived by two daughters, Crystal Knight and husband Bill of Dumas, and Renee Burkett of Dayton, OH two sons, Jimmy Bates of Amarillo and Kenny Beck and wife Kim of Escondido CA two brothers, Earl Beck of Dumas and Orin Beck of Waco five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, ten greatgreat grandchildren and hosts of other family members.

The family suggests memorials be to Memorial Hospice, 224 E. 2nd, Dumas, TX 79029.

The family will be at 521 Beard in Dumas.
