Christina Hagen, 77, Dies In Hospital
Mrs. Christina Hagen, 335 Eden st., a resident of Lodi since 1920, died early Saturday morning in a local hospital. Mrs. Hagen, 77, had been in ill health for several years. The wife of Daniel S. Hagen of Lodi, she was born May 9, 1880, in Russia, and came to America four years later with her parents, who settled in South Dakota. She came to Lodi in January, 1920, from Naper, Nebr.
Besides her husband, survivors include her children, Henry Mayer of Stockton; Bill Mayer, Lake Tahoe; Julius Mayer of Winters; Mrs. Hilda Ratliff, Turlock; Mrs Dolly Collins, Rio Vista; Mrs. Emma Bianchetti, Mrs. Annette Ackerman and Mrs. Martha Schmidt, all of Lodi.
She was the stepmother of Dan and Melvin Hagen, both of Berkeley; Ezra Hagen of Walnut Creek; and Mrs. Emily Schaffer of Lodi; and the sister of Mrs. Rose Adams of Lodi and the late John Fischer, Mrs. Katie Spitzer and Magdalena Hoffman. Other survivors include 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Hagen was a member of the Emanuel American Lutheran Church and of the church's Ladies Aid Society.
