Betty J. Baker, 95, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Friday, February 21, 2014 at Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born October 21, 1918 in North Benton, Ohio to the late Nathan and Myrtle (Lowery) Ryerson. She lived most of her life in Norwalk, before retiring to Largo, Florida, and later returning to Norwalk, Ohio.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Queen Esther Chapter 15, Order of the Eastern Star. She was active in the Elks Lodge Lady's Golf Association, and was Club Champion 3 times. She was active in, and a past President of, the Firelands Garden Club. In recent years, she remained involved with charitable contributions to many local and national foundations.
Betty is survived by her aunt, Hilda Ryerson, by her niece, Judy Meyers, five grandsons, Ronald Jr., Steven, David, Ryan, and Kelly Baker, and five great-grandchildren, Abby, Aidan, Ella, Hayden, and Zoey Baker.
She was preceded in death by husband, Lloyd in 1971, by her sons, Ronald in 2004, and Robert in 2010, by her brothers, Fred and Jack Ryerson, and by her sisters, Carol Bottomlee, Louise Oetjens, and Florence Youngblood.
There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at Walker Funeral Home, 98 West Main St. Norwalk, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huron County Humane Society, 246 Woodlawn Ave. Norwalk.
