History - Sid was born on his mother's birthday, she being 21 years old. His father, George Leander Rymer, who was born in Polk County, Tennessee, came to Texas and met Sid's mother, who had just come from Louisiana. His parents were married after some time and lived in Troup, Texas, near her people. They heard and accepted the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when Sid was one years old.
They moved from Texas to Utah, settling in Holden, Utah where Sidney Teeples lived. He was one of the Elders who had converted Sid's parents to the gospel. After some time they moved to Fremont. Then they moved to Nephi. Father Rymer herded sheep on the Sanpete Mountains and Monroe Mountains. Then they settled on a ranch in Juab. While Sid's father was herding sheep he contracted pneumonia and died, leaving his mother with small three children. At the time of his father's death, Sid's mother seemed to faint or sink away. Apostle Teasdale blessed her and promised her she nor her children would ever want for bread.
Sidney's mother died on April 19, 1910. To Sid she was the last of a wonderful Mother. Sidney married Ellen Josephine Hanks on 17 August 1910 in the Salt Lake Temple by Anthon H. Lund.
