Nora A. Bucks Nora Bucks, 84 passed away on June 24th, 2008 and private Funeral Services were held on the 29th of June in Fresno County, Calif. where she had relocated. She was born on March 11, 1924 along with her identical twin sister Cora (Santos) in Waupaca, Wisconsin. She was married in 1942 and after WWII she traveled to California with her husband Frank and settled in Santa Clara County where they enjoyed their career's and raised their children. She worked at Memorex (tape plant) for many years and after retiring, she realized she wasn't quite ready to quit her working life, and gained employment at Lockheed in Sunnyvale where she acquired many personal friends, retiring from their employ at the age of 72. Nora loved all sports, Bowling, Baseball and Football were among her favorites with the Giants and 49er's her "special teams". She was an extremely active person and continued swimming, walking and bicycling until earlier this year when illness had taken most of her strength. She was always willing to try something new, kayaking the only navigable river in Hawaii and hot air ballooning were just a couple of her adventurous experiences late in life. When she wasn't working, Nora enjoyed time with friends and family. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, and survived by her 6 children, Joyce, John, Joan, Jim, Jerri and Jeff. She is also survived by 4 brothers and 4 sisters (out of 13) and 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. There aren't words enough to say what a gracious and loving person she was. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her and loved her. In memory of her husband Frank, and In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made on her behalf to the American Diabetes Association
