Mrs. Martha Jane Slagle

Templeton, Jan 29 - Mrs. Martha Jane Slagle, one of the best known residents of this place, died at her home Wednesday afternoon at 12:10, after an illness of about two weeks. Tuesday she appeared to be much better and her death came as a shock to her many friends in this section. Her maiden name was Leasure and she was born June 1, 1849. She was united in marriage to Daniel Slagle who died February 4, 1925.

Mrs. Slagle is survived by the following children, Mrs. Cora Smith, Pittsburgh; Mrs. A.M. Hilty, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Morris Knighton, Ambridge; Mrs Edna Hulings, Vandergrift; Mrs. C.C. Heasley, Templeton and Ney Slagle of Lickingville. She is also survived by 35 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Jack Leavsley died in Brooklyn last Sunday and will be buried in Braeburn Friday. Two brothers, Daniel Leasure of Braeburn and William of Brooklyn, NY also survive.

Mrs. Slagle was a charter member of the Church of God at this place. Funeral services will be held in the church Sunday afternoon a 2 o'clock and interment will take place in Cochran cemetery.
