John Adams, Sr.

Maryneal - John G. Adams, Sr., 90, died Thursday in a Sweetwater nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater with the Rev. Chad Strange officiating. Burial will be in Maryneal Cemetery.

Mr. Adams was born in Stephens County and moved to Maryneal in 1920 where he attended school. He married Elsie O. Russell in 1925 in Nolan. He was a farmer and rancher before retiring and was a 60-year member of the Roscoe and Sweetwater Masonic Lodges. He was a member of the Maryneal Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie O. Adams of Maryneal; one son, John G. Adams, Jr. of Maryneal; one daughter, Martha Jane Turner of Lubbock; one brother, Joe W. Adams of Abilene; one sister, Thelma Hudman of Lubbock; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
