Allie Myrtle Carpenter was born July 7, 1897 in Izard County, Arkansas to John Lee Carpenter and Lou Vici Davis. She was the third of nine children born to this couple, six of whom survived to adulthood, Sarah Anna, Arrie A, Allie, Nola Martha Mae, Willie Opal, and Jessie Marie.
On September 22, 1912 in Hunt County, Texas, Allie married "C H" Charley Hershel Ramsey. They were the parents of four children, Doyle Leon, Floyd Raymond, Loveta Marie and Juanita Fay.
I never had the good fortune to meet my Grandmother Allie. She died March 13, 1942 from cancer, in California and I was three weeks old living in Oklahoma. I regret that fact very much. I have read the last letter she wrote to her family and I know I would have loved her. I will meet her one day in heaven, and I am looking forward to that day.
