John D. Biddle, 89, of Grazierville died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.

Born Feb. 15, 1926, in Warriors Mark, he was the son of Paul and Catherine (Parks) Biddle. He was united in marriage to the former F. Viola Bradford June 7, 1947, in Virginia. Mrs. Biddle preceded him in death Oct. 1, 2004.

John D. Biddle, 89, of Grazierville died Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, at Epworth Manor, Tyrone.

Born Feb. 15, 1926, in Warriors Mark, he was the son of Paul and Catherine (Parks) Biddle. He was united in marriage to the former F. Viola Bradford June 7, 1947, in Virginia. Mrs. Biddle preceded him in death Oct. 1, 2004.

Mr. Biddle is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Shuey of Altoona, Effie Harpster and husband, Edward, of Bellwood; and a son, Harold Biddle and wife, Janet, of Warriors Mark; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

He is also survived by two brothers, Harry Biddle of North Carolina and George Biddle of Warriors Mark; and three sisters, Betty Nahory of Arizona, Josephine Hamilton of Huntingdon and Phyllis Cunningham of Spruce Creek.

Mr. Biddle served in the United States Army from April 1944 until May 1946 in the 341st Infantry Regiment in Europe.

He had worked at the Erie Technology Corp., retiring in 1989 following 26 years of service. He also operated the Biddle Farm in Warriors Mark.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the Bruce Cox Funeral Home, Warriors Mark, with the Rev. Joe Rose officiating. Interment will be made in the Burket Cemetery with military honors.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, and from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home.
