Born January 18, 1915, in Lincoln County, he was a son of the late John I. Butler and Molly McCarty Butler.
He was a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Carter Butler of Star City; two sons, Lewis A. Butler of LaBelle, Florida, and Jimmy L. Butler of Star City; two sisters, Ruth Marble of Pine Bluff and Ila Fritz of Fort Worth; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. today at Griffin Funeral Home of Star City, with burial in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
