Esther Bailey, wife of Roy Holdren, 43 years of age, and a resident of Ft. Dodge for the past 17 years, died last Tuesday morning. Mrs. Holdren had been in ill health with cancer for some time, but was not confined to her bed until a few weeks ago.
She was the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eben Bailey of Clay Township, who preceded her in death. She married Roy Dewey Holdren on 10 September, 1919, in Royal, Iowa. They lived on a farm near Royal for a few years, then moved to Fort Dodge where Roy managed a gas station. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Aurora Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Leland and Larry; and a daughter, Mrs. Constance Bradford, all of Ft. Dodge; two sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church in Ft. Dodge, with the pastor, Rev. M. P. Arrasmith officiating. Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery in Ft. Dodge.
