James Eldred Curtis was born Sunday, July 9, 1905 in Moroni, Utah to Jacob Lehi Curtis and Jensena Simonsen.
Eldred married Mabel Stewart on November 17, 1926 in the Manti LDS Temple. They had two children, Lanny and Kenneth.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Eldred was employed at Kennecott Utah Copper Corporation as a craneman for forty-one years.
Eldred passed away following a brief illness on Thursday, May 30, 1974 in a Salt Lake Hospital. He resided at 2839 South 9050 West in Magna, Utah at the time of his death.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 8, 1974 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magna First Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 2941 South 9150 West in Magna, A viewing was held on Friday, June 7, 1974 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home located at 8525 West 2700 South in Magna, and at the Church one hour prior to the services.
Eldred was laid to rest following the conclusion of the Funeral Services at Valley View Memorial Park in Granger.
