MRS. HOWARD SMEAL
MORRISDALE - Mrs. Bessie O. Smeal, 55, of Morrisdale R. D., widow of Howard Smeal, died of a heart attack last night at 9:30 o'clock en route to the Philipsburg State General Hospital.
A daughter of the late Charles and Verda (Mason) Green, she was born in Woodland Sept. 4, 1908.
She is survived by the following four sons and six daughters: Howard, Levittown; John, West Decatur R. D.; Wilbur, serving in Germany with the U. S. Air Force; Harold, Clearfield R. D.; Mrs. Francis (Margaret) Ward, Bronx, N.Y.; Mrs. James (Adeline) Stine, Morrisdale, R. D.; Mrs. Duane (Kathryn) Maines, Richmond, Va.; Mrs. Ronald (Norma) Vincenyo, Bigler; Mrs. Charles (Viola) Foster, Wallaceton; and Barbara, at home.
Three children preceded her in death - twin girls, Doris and Dorothy, in 1937, and Charles in 1938. Her husband died in 1953.
Thirty-two grandchildren and the following four brothers and seven sisters also survive: David Green and Adeline Dixon, Bigler; Charles, Chandler, Ariz.; Herbert, based in Virginia with the U. S. Air Force; Robert, Rockfort, Ill.; Mrs. Thelma Hunt and Mrs. Alberta Burton, Clearfield; Mrs. Dolly Dodge, Mrs. Grace Lumadue and Mrs. Vada Burgess, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Mrs. Margaret Long, Tonawanda, N.Y.
Friends will be received in the Flegal and Weaver Funeral Home here from 7 o'clock this evening until Sunday noon and from then until 2 p.m. in the Wallaceton Church of God.
The Rev. Paul Bell will officiate at the funeral service Sunday at 2 p.m. in the church. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery at Woodland R. D.
