She was born in September 1905 as Rensktje Scheeringa in the country village of Midwolde, located in the southwestern part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen, municipality Leek, the last of ten children of the 49 years aged farmer Jakob Scheeringa and Grietje Heuker.

She had the following nine siblings Scheeringa:
* Hemke (Henry), born 20 April 1887 in Sebaldeburen;
* Egbert (Edward), 9 June 1889, Sebaldeburen;
* Hotze, 30 November 1891, Sebaldeburen;
* Harm, 17 November 1893, Oldekerk;
* Martinus (Martin), 28 March 1896, Midwolde, municipality Leek;
* Roelf (Ralph), 22 April 1897, Midwolde;
* Margaretha (Margaret), 11 August 1898, Midwolde;
* Willem (William), 20 September 1901, Midwolde;
* Tonnis (Tony), 6 September 1903, Midwolde;

Her father Jakob Scheeringa was in 1887, 1889 and 1891 a shopkeeper in his birthplace Sebaldeburen, in 1893 a laborer in Oldekerk, in 1896, 1898 and 1905 a farmer in Midwolde, in the southwestern part of province Groningen, municipality Leek, and in 1901 and 1903 a laborer in Midwolde.

On 9 May 1911 her brothers Hemke Scheeringa (24, farmer) and Egbert Scheeringa (21, farmer) arrived on the SS Noordam at the port of New York, Ellis Island. Their destination was Hammond, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana, where their friend J. van Til is residing.

On 7 May 1912 Renstja (6), her father Jacob Scheeringa (56, farm laborer), her mother Grietje (48) and her siblings Harm (16), Martinus (16), Roelt (15), Margaretha (13), Willem (10) and Tonnis (8) arrived on the SS Noordam at the port of New York, Ellis Island. They departed from Leek, located in the southwestern part of province Groningen, and their destination was Hammond, Lake County, in the utter northwestern part of Indiana, where son Hemke E. Scheeringa is residing.

In 1917 her mother Grietje died at the age of about 54 years in Lake County, Indiana.

Rena Scheeringa married the four years older George (Sjoerd) Kuiper, also born in the western part of the Dutch northeastern province Groningen.

They had the following children Kuiper in Lake County, Indiana:
* Andrew, born 7 October 1924;
* Gracie;
* William Richard;
* Ronald Ralph, b. 5 August 1935, Highland, Lake County, Indiana;
* Larry, born in Highland, Lake County, Indiana.

In 1930 Rena (24, Holland, immigrated in 1912), her husband George Kuipers (28, Holland, immigrated in 1910), their son Andrew (5, Indiana) and daughter Grace E (3, Indiana) were living in Highland, Lake County, Indiana.

In April 1940 Rena (34), her husband George Kuiper (38, working at an automobile plant, masking? jaxxxx rails), their children Andrew (15), Grace (13), Billie (6, Indiana), Ronald (4, Indiana) and Larry (0, Indiana) were living at a rented farm in Highland Town, North Township, Lake County, Indiana. They lived in 1935 in the same house.

Her husband George Kuipers died in December 1968 at the age of 67 years. Widow Rena died in November 1991 at the age of 86 years.
